SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS OF THE CONSERVATORY “GESUALDO DA VENOSA”, WITH THE VOCAL ENSEMBLE OF NAPLES AND THE “PICCOLO CORO MARIELE VENTRE” OF POTENZA.
The event was made possible thanks to the agreement recently drawn up between the Municipality of Brindisi di Montagna and the Conservatory of Music “Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa” of Potenza, is the chosen event to inaugurate an original and synergistic convention as high touristic and cultural value.
In the program, one of the most famous and powerful pages of the symphonic-choral repertoire of the first half of the twentieth century: the secular cantata for Soloists, Chorus and Carmina Burana Orchestra, written by the German composer and educator Carl Orff (Monaco of Bavaria, 1895-1982) , leading exponent of the “Frankfurt group”, in the years 1935-1936 with the subtitle of “Cantiones profanae cantoribus et Choris cantandae, comitantibus instrumentis atque imaginibus magicis” and on the texts taken from the collection of the Benediktbeuren monastery in Bavaria known as Codex Latinus 4660. This latter is a precious documental source of songs of the wandering students in Latin language of the year 1200 praising love, wine and a pagan view of life.
